COVID-19 Update for Shasta Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc. (SWRR)

Amid the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, SWRR is accepting injured and orphaned wildlife. Please read this special notice regarding our policies during this time. The safety of our staff, volunteers, and community is paramount to SWRR. So, we are taking steps to keep everyone safe while still remaining available for animal intake and rehabilitation of wildlife that are truly in need of intervention.

If you find an orphaned or injured animal in need of help visit our Find a Critter page for further instruction. Please do not bring an animal to the Center. The species manager volunteer will discuss safe drop off locations and protocols with you by phone. Take pictures in case the volunteer would like to see them.

Please call us regarding only orphaned or injured wildlife. If you are uncertain if the animal is truly in distress see our If You Care page. This will help keep our very limited volunteers from being overwhelmed with phone calls.

In order to continue to serve our community and our wildlife population, SWRR respectfully requests that you transport the animal to the species manager volunteer and follow their instructions carefully. Our priority is to keep our animal care team healthy and safe so they can continue to focus on caring for our residents.

SWRR is so grateful for our animal care teams, and our volunteers and donors. We could not operate without your support. Thank you so much for helping us to do our part to slow the spread of the coronavirus while maintaining our mission statement of Wildlife Conservation Through Rehabilitation.

Stay safe and healthy!
